Asian skincare brands are good and highly attractive for various reasons such as their ingredients, their innovative formulas, the packaging design, prices, etc.; adding a very important factor, their recent and successful internationalization, opening up to the global cosmetics market, being able to grow successfully through constructive criticism, transforming it into an opportunity for growth, being a clear example of this effect Tir-Tir, a Korean makeup and skincare brand, famous for its "mask fit red cushion", that thanks to the constructive criticism of Miss Darcei, they were able to implement the necessary changes to their brand in general, and to their flagship product in particular, allowing them to make the leap into the global cosmetics market, becoming a benchmark as one of the first brands of South Korea origin to expand the range of shades and undertones in their cushion-format makeup foundation.

Now, what's happening in Europe? Which low-cost brands have been revolutionizing the European cosmetics market, putting higher-priced brands on edge? Among the main countries that stand out within the European and global cosmetics market are France, Italy, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain (which has always had very good cosmetics brands, but its global presence has only recently begun to be noticed with brands like Byphasse, Biovène, La Cabine), and Poland. France, a major global leader in the cosmetics market, have brands such as Lancôme, La Roche Posay, Avéne, Nuxe, L'occitane, Clarins, Filorga, Yves Rocher, Klorane, and Darphin. They also have excellent low-cost brands such as, Evoluderm, Le Petit Marseillais, and Le Petit Oliver.

For a few years now, I've been trying specifically three brands: Evoluderm, Byphasse, and Le Petit Oliver; and honestly, each of them has such good products that they've become an essential part of my vanity. That's why this post is about Byphasse, a brand I consider very complete and that, to date, hasn't disappointed me with any of its products. Although I do like some products more than others, overall, I don't have any negative reviews for any of their products.

Byphasse is a Spanish cruelty-free skincare brand whose products have been made in Spanish, French, and Italian laboratories, and the majority of them with vegan formulations. After years of using several of their products, I've noticed that they're a brand focused on offering high-quality skincare products at the best price, focusing on ingredients, formulations, and effectiveness, contributing to the democratization of the beauty industry.

Their product range extends from facial and body care to hair care, covering the essential aspects of hygiene and personal care. However, one of the things I like most about this brand is that none of its products have caused me any kind of skin reaction. Having sensitive and combination to oily skin on my face, as well as sensitive and dry skin on the rest of my body, doesn't allow me to use any type of product on my skin. Which is honestly a relief, because their shower gels are a very attractive budget option. Among my current favorites facial skin care products are:

Cleansing milk & Cleansing oil.

Both products dissolve makeup (even waterproof) easily, emulsify beautifully with water (so there's no need for cotton pads or cleansing wipes), and leave skin soft and free of impurities, making them the perfect first step in a daily cleansing routine. But, the cleansing oil is the best option for sensitive skin, as the cleansing milk can sting slightly around the eyes area, which can be a bit unpleasant.

Micellar water for sensitive skin & Micellar water for waterproof makeup.

A good micellar water needs to be a quick solution, a one I can turn to on those occasions when I don't have the time or inclination to use a cleansing balm or oil. That's why I need to be able to use it all over my face, including the eye area, and for it to be gentle on the skin while being highly effective removing makeup and impurities. After Garnier's Biphasic Micellar Water for sensitive skin and eyes, both micellar waters from Byphasse are good options that effectively remove makeup and impurities from skin, with an odorless formula, that doesn't make the eye area sting.

Rose water face toner & Thermal water.

Even if I don't expect miracles from a toner that costs less than 4 euros, I am only expecting a decent product that can refresh and rebalance my skin, and after the Revuele coconut face toner, the Byphasse rose water face toner has left me speechless! It slightly moisturizes the skin, gradually evens out the skin tone, leaving the skin soft and full of life. On the other hand, the thermal water works very well to instantly soothe the skin.

One of the things I pay more attention to when choosing a lipstick, whether liquid or solid, is whether its formula is long-lasting, the pigmentation, how it applies on the lips, how rich is the formula, and the price. Since nowadays, nobody need to spend high amounts of money on a lipstick to get a good-quality one, brands like Essence, Jordana, Went N' Wild, Technic, Flormar, Maybelline, or NYX, in general offers good quality makeup products, at affordable prices, so people don't have to break any bank account to buy one.

Among my favorite lipstick brands are NYX cosmetics and Avon Cosmetics, brands that have been in the global cosmetics market for many years. Their lipsticks have very good formulas, durability, pigmentation, and range of colors, to the point that it seems like the main reference of NYX cosmetics is MAC cosmetics.

Eucalyptus, by NYX COSMETICS.

It's a very glossy lipstick, well-pigmented, long-lasting, and offers a very rich color. It glides very smoothly on the lips and doesn't crease lip lines, so those of us who tend to be very expressive don't need to be constantly aware of the particularities of the product we're wearing.

Extreme mauve, by AVON COSMETICS.

It's very easy to apply on the lips, although not as smooth as the NYX lipstick. While it shares the same characteristics as the previous lipstick, this one is less glossy, but it is still highly pigmented and rich, lasting perfectly all day.

After discovering and trying Japanese cosmetics for the first time, I went back to buying and using more products I was eager to try, along with other low-cost European brands that left me with a bittersweet taste, as I wrote on my Instagram. Rediscovering and discovering new skincare brands, I've had more joy than sorrow in this final round of March.

Hydra Therapy micellar water, by REVUELE.

It has become an indispensable skincare product, a necessary toiletry staple, managing to position itself as one of my favorite micellar waters, after Pretty Skin's micellar water and Garnier's micellar water for sensitive skin (the blue one). What I like most about this micellar water is how it cleanses and leaves the skin.

Among its ingredients are hyaluronic acid and Hydromanil, whose main function is to provide long-lasting hydration and conditioning, making it the ideal product for sensitive, dry or dehydrated skin in particular, although it can be used on any skin type.

When you soak the product in the cotton pad and begin cleansing your skin, you can notice how it immediately the product starts to lift makeup and skin impurities. Once the skin starts to feel clean, the cotton pad begins to glide like butter over the skin, removing the latest traces of impurities and makeup, leaving the skin clean, decongested, luminous, hydrated, and full of life.

Houile Démaq’ a rinser (cleansing oil), by EVOLUDERM.

I absolutely miss the previous version, why? Because the current version is somewhat disappointing for my personal taste. As I said on my Instagram account, sometimes, innovation is welcomed with open arms, and other times, it's only accepted by a portion of the target audience, and that's my case with this cleansing oil.

The first version use to melt any type of makeup, emulsifying beautifully, but the new version seems like a failed attempt to combine a cleansing oil with a facial cleansing gel (when emulsifying with water), ruining the original formula without any reason. From a powerful light formula that can dissolve even depilatory wax without any effort, to a thicker formula that have nothing to do with the original formula. So, what used to be one of my favorites low-cost skincare products, has ended up being another product that works, and does its job, nothing revolutionary or innovative to discover or try.

Gokujyun Hatomugi pore cleansing face wash, by HADA LABO.

Very good water-based facial cleanser, with a slightly dense and rich foam that deeply cleanses the skin without drying it out or irritating the eye area. Despite being created to help regulate the skin's sebum production, it doesn't dry out the skin, gently removing impurities from the skin, penetrating directly into the pores, cleansing them deeply.

It's a good second step daily cleansing routine that leaves skin soft and smooth, and ready for the next step in your daily routine: facial toner.

Dokudami natural skin lotion, by CHINOSIO.

I always end up loving most of Japanese and Korean facial toners, but this one is completely different, why? Because it goes beyond conditioning and rebalancing the skin, becoming an effective treatment itself that helps to eliminate dark spots, improving skin tone, and increasing skin luminosity. So after its continued use, the skin begins to look renewed and more even-toned.

Although its formula is light and easily absorbed by the skin, it has an interesting list of ingredients, with Dokudami, Licorice extract, and Rose Water as its main ingredients.

Something to keep in mind is that this face toner contains two different types of parabens: Ethylparaben and Methylparaben, as preservatives. I'm aware that these skincare ingredients may be controversial, however, it is also true that they have been used safely for years in the skincare industry. In my particular case, I have sensitive combination-oily skin, and I haven't had any problems with the daily use of this face toner. In fact, it has helped me to condition and unify my skin tone, combating effectively my skin blemishes.

As I always say, the secret lies in the product's formulation. Not everyone knows how to find the perfect recipe, even if you give them all the ingredients and explain step by step how to prepare the secret potion.

Like happens with many people, my hair also goes through various stages, from a natural Afro (that is somewhat difficult to tame), to different periods of time when I prefer to give my hair a pause and enjoy African braids.

Even if now I'm in a non-manipulation or in a very low-manipulation hairstyle stage, using various types of braids since a month ago, three to four months ago I decided to retexturize my 4C Afro hair to make my daily routine easier during those periods where I decide to not wear braids or extensions.

IMPORTANT!
I love my natural hair, without any chemical treatments, and I also love it with treatments, and some chemical treatments that help me have more manageable hair. My decision to relax my hair has nothing to do with feeling ashamed about having a 4C Afro hair, but rather for comfort, and also for a change of style.

By the way, the products mentioned here can also be used on natural Afro hair, not being specific or exclusive for Afro hair that has undergone a chemical process.

REMEMBER: natural Afro hair is gorgeous, and it's a unique hair type, with its own unique characteristics, just like straight, wavy, or curly Caucasian, Latin, Arab, or Asian hair; therefore, it requires specific care beyond washing and masking.

Nutrition and repair shampoo, by OBLEPIKHA SIBERICA PROFESSIONAL.

I previously had the opportunity to try a shampoo from the same line, but designed for normal to dry hair, and I remember how I loved how soft and manageable it used to left my hair, so I decided to continue testing other products from the same line. But, instead of how manageable leave my hair, what really caught my attention was how gentle it was on my hair, not leaving it dry or sticky after rinse it.  So, after having gone through a chemical process, I needed a more nourishing and repairing hair care routine starting with the washing routine.

What strikes me most about Oblepinkha Siberica Professional products is that most of their products are created from natural and organic ingredients, having some of them a completely vegan formula. In particular, this shampoo, in contrast to the one indicated for normal to dry hair, seals the hair surface and helps to tame fuzz. On the other hand, I could notice that it is more enveloping, with a denser foam that pampers the hair at the same time it cleanses it, leaving the hair softer and shinier.

Deep treatment keratin hair mask, by KATIVA.

As I said on Instagram, this hair mask has changed my life. I don't know the magic behind this product yet, but this is the second time I've used it, and my opinion remains the same: INCREDIBLE. Considering the ever-growing cosmetics market, and the variety of existing products I haven't had the chance to try yet, it's impossible for me to categorize this hair mask as a favorite, or even the best, but I can categorize it as one of the best I've tried so far, making it one of my favorites.

It leaves hair nourished, soft, shinier, and helps prevent hair breakage. I have to confess that I was previously afraid of using products with keratin because I had heard very unpleasant experiences, but after trying Syoss and Kativa products, I realized that it has to do with the quality of the formula, because keratin itself is a beneficial ingredient for hair, and used properly, it doesn't have to damage the hair.

100% natural argan oil, by YARI HAIR & COSMETICS.

This product was my first time trying the famous argan oil, a highly recommended oil to condition hair (The famous Moroccan gold oil), and it was a highly disappointing experience. First, it's not 100% pure, natural argan oil, but rather a blend of sweet almond oil, which is the first ingredient on the list. Second, it's a blend that, in my case, tangles my hair and doesn't provide any benefits (0% nourishment).

Finally, in terms of smell and texture, it seems most like cooking oil, like the oil used in restaurants to fry food, and not like a mixture of natural cold-pressed oils

As Patrick Starr said once: “makeup is one size that fits all”. So, are you one of those people who loves makeup, but don't know where to start? You'd like to start wearing makeup every day, but don't know where to begin? Are you afraid of putting on that gorgeous deep red lipstick? If so, keep reading, because you can do it too.

Well, firstly let me tell you that makeup doesn't bite, and it was created to help people gain more self-confidence (like BB & CC creams), for example, by covering their imperfections. It's also one of the greatest symbols of artistic expression that exists and has been with humankind for centuries. One of my goals on this blog is to create makeup content for everyone, from the simplest to the most elaborate, social, and non-social makeup looks that maybe can inspire you to go to the next level with what you already have.

Makeup for everyone, it doesn’t matter your age, size, height, skin color, or body complexion. Best of all, nowadays, nobody needs to have expensive makeup to get the results needed, particularly if you’ve been taking care properly of your skin since every flawless finish starts from there.

Today, I'm bringing two super-easy makeup looks to recreate: one done with low-cost makeup, and the other one with high-end makeup. I think everyone has their perfect shade of red, and it's just a very gorgeous color to be afraid of.

THE LIPS

Focusing on the color that torments many people, I bring two beautiful options, with a gorgeous finish.
  • Vittoria 302 lipstick, by STENDHAL PARIS.
PROS: Buttery, glossy, rich color, easy to apply.
CONS: beautiful finish, but not very durable.

  • Super Nova 11 liquid lipstick, by PINK DUCK x PORPORAPORPITA (LOGIC BEAUTY).
PROS: Long-lasting, bold deep rich red, fast dry, stays perfect all day long.
CONS: For some people, it can be a little drying.

THE EYES

Even if today choice is a soft and easy makeup look. These beautiful eyeshadow palettes allow you to easily create a variety of makeup looks for day and night. Honestly, I have nothing bad to say about them, as they all have very good quality eyeshadows that last all day.

  • Suede voyageur eyeshadow palette 1194, by NARS.
  • Romanced eyeshadow palette, by W7 COSMETICS & MAKEUP.

  • Naked 3 eyeshadow palette, by URBAN DECAY.
